It is UK summer time now, and that means the clocks changed by plus one hour.
So the start time in Uganda/ Kenya/ Ethiopia is now 6.30 PM and will be for the remainder of the PDC
The focus of the week’s session centered on utilizing permaculture design as a tool for comprehending money and economics. The objective was to leverage this knowledge to build better communities and solve problems.
The theme revolved around a pertinent question – How can we use and value our existing resources to be more effective? By working with local and natural resources and recognizing the diversity of opportunities surrounding us, we can unlock new possibilities. Throughout the session, we explored an array of opics, including the story of Garth Garden, a healing garden created by a community in North Wales.
We also delved into economic theory and expanded on the idea of capital, which encompasses much more than just money.
Additionally, participants were able to partake in practical sessions at PermoAfrica Kenya, where they created a demonstration Lorena stove. Similarly, with TAPA in Teso Uganda, they constructed Lorena energy-efficient stoves.

Thermal mass, rocket stove, is at least 4 times more fuel efficient that a three stone cooking fire.
